Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. This role prepares prescriptions, draws doses, performs quality assurance tests, receives and stores pharmaceuticals, maintains inventory, assists with labeling blood cell products, performs laboratory cleanup, and may handle clerical and administrative services. The technician may also make deliveries, speak with customers, and works under close supervision with all work reviewed for accuracy.
