About The Position

HSHS St. John's Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the retail pharmacy team. Ideal candidates will work under the direct supervision of the registered pharmacist, and according to state and federal laws, perform a variety of tasks according to policies and procedures. The entry-level role requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations, knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology along with an understanding of the pharmacy dispensing responsibilities necessary to comply with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Licensed or registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice is required.
  • May work in a license pending status for up to 60 days.
  • IL: Certified Pharmacy Technician achieved within 12 months of hire or enrolled in Doctorate of Pharmacy Program is required.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
  • Understanding of the pharmacy dispensing responsibilities necessary to comply with state and federal regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) recognized Educational School/Training Program is preferred.
  • 1 year pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • WI: Certified Pharmacy Technician achieved within 12 months of hire or enrolled in Doctorate of Pharmacy Program is preferred.
