About The Position

Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital, a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a casual/PRN position. The hospital opened in 1965 and has a long history of serving the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma program or GED.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program.
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.
• Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products.
• Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms.
• Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs.
• Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy.
• Documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy.
• Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital.
• Performs necessary record keeping functions.
• Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window.
• May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required.
• Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner.
• Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures.
