About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Clinical Pharmacy Team with tasks related to pharmacy utilization and implementation of medication management programs, while helping to maintain and improve the Pharmacy Quality program. Under pharmacist supervision the Pharmacy Technician will assist in improving patient outcomes and promoting the safe and effective use of medications to improve quality and the total cost of care. You will focus on: Support the Pharmacy Team on CMS/HEDIS Quality STAR measures by targeting patient populations include, but are not limited to, patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and dyslipidemia. Support the Pharmacy Team delivery of evidence-based pharmaceutical care. Conduct outbound and receiving inbound member and provider calls to address gaps in care, adherence, and therapeutic interchange to improve health care outcomes under general pharmacist supervision. Serve as a contact for clinical pharmacy programs and subject matter expert to medical services, physicians, and project teams regarding clinical intervention programs and pharmacy benefit management issues. Documentation of clinical activities and outcomes including but not limited to instructions and goals for patients into electronic health record (EHR). Communicate with internal and external clinical staff, provider offices, health plan partners and in-network pharmacies to provide information and support various clinical programs. Assist with data reviews, reports, and presentations for pharmacy related items. Support the Pharmacy Team and Clinical department with ad-hoc projects and perform other assigned duties. Researching, processing, and resolving drug authorization requests and responding to related physician inquiries.

Requirements

  • California State Board as Licensed Pharmacy Tech required.
  • HS Diploma and 1 year of Pharmacy related experience (Retail or Managed Care) and training
