Pharmacy Technician- Full Time Order Entry

About The Position

As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will perform order entry tasks and collaborate with other team members in the medication dispensing process at a closed-door pharmacy. The front-end team enters orders, works alongside the pharmacist to ensure accuracy, and provides customer service. The role supports Omnicare, which provides pharmacy services to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following Omnicare’s sale by CVS Health, the person hired will be employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization.

Requirements

Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities

Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and required information or response.
Calculate and/or verify correct dosages based on prescriptions.
Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
Provide the dispensing pharmacist with information about allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
Create and maintain accurate customer records.
Enter medication orders and collaborate with team members in the medication dispensing process.
Work with the pharmacist to help ensure order accuracy and provide customer service.
