Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Pharmacy Technician Certification from an approved technical school or a minimum of six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy
Current BLS certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification
Ability to complete required 340B University training within the first two weeks of employment and maintain annual renewals
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic health records
Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and ability to perform basic pharmacy math

Responsibilities

Accurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with pharmacy SOPs
Identify medications from stock, count correct quantities, and prepare prescription labels
Verify patient eligibility with insurance plans and third-party payers and calculate costs as needed
Answer incoming calls and respond to routine questions, escalating complex inquiries to the pharmacist
Assist with patient education materials under pharmacist supervision
Support refill authorization requests and communication with providers and care team members
Maintain accurate records and assist with quality control and quality assurance activities
Manage daily pharmacy operations, including inventory, supplies, and cash handling
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations, and all state and federal requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
Promote positive relationships with patients, visitors, and the community
