About The Position
The UW Medical Center - Northwest Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join us in our Center for Behavioral Health and Learning building. This is a part-time position with 35 hours per week, working the night shift. The role involves performing a variety of pharmaceutical tasks under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, engaging in accurate and timely medication procurement, preparation, and dispensing, and promoting appropriate, safe, and effective medication use.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited/approved pharmacy technician training program.
- State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely medication procurement, preparation and dispensing
- Restock drug storage areas and refill automated drug dispensing devices in all hospital areas
- Packaging of medications into single unit doses and preparation of patient-specific doses as needed
- Triage incoming phone calls and clinical inquiries requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgement within the Pharmacy Department
