About The Position

Physicians’ Primary Care of Southwest Florida is a premier physician owned and managed primary care practice with locations in Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres. We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Adult Medicine division at out College Parkway office. Schedule is Monday through Friday, Day Shift.

Requirements

• Minimum one year clinical experience preferred.
• Great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
• Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program.
• Knowledge of medications and side effects.
• Skill in administering a variety of medications as directed.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required

Responsibilities

• Review and process prescription requests from patients and those sent electronically from pharmacies.
• Follow refill protocol as set by the practice.
• Works closely with providers and pharmacies to answer any questions/discrepancies in medications.
• Perform medication prior authorizations.
• Assist with patient education as needed.
• Stays current with knowledge of medications (brand vs generic), doses and delivery methods (tables, creams, topical).
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and protected heath information (PHI) in a manner consistent with HIPAA.
