Purpose: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient use under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with federal and state laws, and Patient Service Center policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration or be eligible for registration and successfully obtain Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician registration within 60 days of training completion.
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience to be considered
Nice To Haves
- Completion of Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
- Minimum of 1 year experience of non-commercial pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience performing prescription data entry
Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacist(s) with pharmacy fulfillment activities for cold chain and ambient products
- Communicates with staff about sufficient inventory quantities regarding medication delivery
- Assist in inventory audits and management on as needed basis
- Adhere to REMS program guidelines and requirements
- Fulfillment of prescriptions including, but not limited to: product receipt, lot tracking, and shipping coordination
- Accurately enter patient prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system
- Perform prescription and patient data entry
- Manage prescriber and patient shipment set-up portals
- Complete annual/biannual requirements to maintain an active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Additional projects and activities assigned
