Purpose: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient use under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with federal and state laws, and Patient Service Center policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration or be eligible for registration and successfully obtain Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician registration within 60 days of training completion.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience to be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program
  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
  • Minimum of 1 year experience of non-commercial pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing prescription data entry

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacist(s) with pharmacy fulfillment activities for cold chain and ambient products
  • Communicates with staff about sufficient inventory quantities regarding medication delivery
  • Assist in inventory audits and management on as needed basis
  • Adhere to REMS program guidelines and requirements
  • Fulfillment of prescriptions including, but not limited to: product receipt, lot tracking, and shipping coordination
  • Accurately enter patient prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system
  • Perform prescription and patient data entry
  • Manage prescriber and patient shipment set-up portals
  • Complete annual/biannual requirements to maintain an active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • Additional projects and activities assigned
