About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician 2 will travel on-site and cover pharmacy locations in the Largo, Tampa, Plant City area. You will provide coverage and assistance when needed as a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) employee. You will obtain new prescriptions and prescription refill information, and count prescription drugs, answer customer questions in person and over the phone.
Requirements
- Must have an active Pharmacy Technician registration/license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of Florida.
- 1 or more years of experience as pharmacy technician OR any pharmacy related experience.
- Work on your feet and work different stations within a pharmacy (Data Entry, Production, Cash Register, Phone calls (inbound and outbound) and other assignments) as directed by the pharmacist.
- This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
- Can work onsite at pharmacies in Largo, Tampa and Plant City as scheduled.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences.
Nice To Haves
- Nationally Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB or NHA ExCPT).
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English).
Responsibilities
- Work in different areas of the pharmacy (Data Entry, Production, Cash Register, Phone calls (inbound and outbound) and other assignments) as directed by the pharmacist.
- Retrieve, count, and measure prescription drugs.
- Assist Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of prescription drugs.
- Access, input, and retrieve prescription information from computers.
- Refer physicians' calls and any medical questions to pharmacist.
- Make decisions focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
- Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but have some latitude over prioritization/timing, and under minimal direction.
- Follow standard policies and practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and independent discretion.
