About The Position

This is a Full Time Pharmacy Technician position for our CF/HTC Pharmacy inside Butterworth Hospital. This is a Closed-Door Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will provide technical assistance, process and prepare medications and supplies under the direction of a Pharmacist. They will work with multiple medication automation systems, deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas, and triage phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members. The role requires the ability to work in complex pharmacy areas including satellites, sterile product compounding, controlled substance handling, and inventory management. Responsibilities include preparing supplies/medications, including complex sterile formulations, hazardous or biologic products (with proper training and competency), and packaging bulk medications into unit of use packaging. The technician will handle controlled substances under supervision and deliver pharmacy prepared items to various nursing stations/patient care areas. Maintaining a clean and organized work area and meeting all CPhT certification requirements and assigned competencies are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician Temp - STATE_MI State of Michigan Must obtain full licensure w/in 90 days of hire. Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required Or CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association Excludes - LIC- Pharmacist Intern 90 Days required

  • Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications.
  • Completes all Corewell Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
