About The Position

Lifestream Health Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our in-house pharmacy team. This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialized pain management clinic, focusing primarily on Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Workers' Compensation (WC) patients. We operate as a cohesive, cross-functional team. While your primary home will be the pharmacy, you are the type of professional who is happy to lend a hand where needed to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

Requirements

  • Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy (or ability to obtain before start date).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical skills for dosage calculations.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and an empathetic "bedside manner."
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with PIP/WC billing (a significant plus).

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input, count, label, and dispense medications with supervision.
  • Navigate the complexities of PIP and Workers' Comp claims. Manage the end-to-end Prior Authorization process, coordinating between providers and payers to ensure timely medication access.
  • Oversee the handling, documentation, and patient fulfillment requirements for high-cost or high-complexity specialty drugs.
  • Provide exceptional service to our patients, many of whom are managing chronic pain or recovery from injury.
  • Assist with ordering, stocking, and performing cycle counts to ensure the pharmacy is always prepared.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Maryland Board of Pharmacy regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
  • Assist with administrative tasks or clinic flow support during peak times as part of the Lifestream "all-hands" culture.
