About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician works as part of the health system specialty pharmacy to support the delivery of accurate, high quality pharmaceutical care to patients. Supports all aspects of the medication fulfillment process, including patient profile maintenance, data entry, prescription adjudication, filling, packaging, and shipping medications. Performs patient outreach to provide updates, refill reminders, process refills, and ensure ongoing continuity of care.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Pennsylvania.
At least six months’ pharmacy technician experience required.
Experience in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy required
Collaborates with internal and external customers to promote quality care and customer service.
Capable of working both independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrates critical thinking in identifying, assessing, and responding to medication-related issues.
Ability to multi-task and organize workload for efficient use of time.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
Strong communication skills, including active listening, speaking, and effective writing.
Demonstrates cultural competency, compassion, and advocacy across the health care team.

Nice To Haves

National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT or ExCPT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain patient profiles within the pharmacy system, including demographic, insurance, and prescription record details.
Perform prescription data entry into the appropriate patient profiles.
Process new and refill prescription orders.
Adjudicate prescriptions to third party payers and resolve simple and complex adjudication errors.
Prepare, fill, and label medications for verification by a pharmacist.
Prepare and package medications for delivery to patients in a manner that maintains manufacturer storage requirements and maintains product stability and integrity.
Perform patient outreach to coordinate care, provide refill reminders, schedule deliveries, and facilitate ongoing treatment success.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, provider office staff, and external business associates.
