About The Position

The pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in providing prescribed pharmaceuticals for a designated population. They provide technical support and other activities for the Pharmacy Department as delegated by a pharmacist.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Mississippi driver's license
• Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Student in the state of MS. Must be registered within the three months of employment
• Ability to learn medical abbreviations, drug strengths, drug generic and brand names in basic pharmacy operations, including computer systems
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle

Nice To Haves

• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and Windows

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist to provide prescribed pharmaceuticals for a designated patient population
• Monitors inventory and restocks supplies in the assigned department/area
• Performs clerical duties
• Practices within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries
• Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction
