About The Position

Assists Pharmacists to fill, dispense prescriptions for customers. Assists customers at counter, retrieves prescriptions, rings up customers. Orders and stocks drugs, supplies, and over-the-counter merchandise. Updates patient records and inventory, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system.

Requirements

Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment.
Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assists customer at counter, receives written prescriptions for Pharmacists, retrieves filled prescriptions.
Rings up orders.
Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges.
Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
Answer phones, directs customers to product location.
Assists Pharmacists in updating patient profile and entering prescriptions information into the pharmacy computer to extent allowable by State law.
Preserves patient confidentiality.
Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting, pouring, restocking, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under direct Pharmacist’s supervision to the extent allowable by State law.
Follows safety and security procedures.
Prepares third-party insurance claims, processes invoices, and makes accounting entries using computerized system.
Orders, receives, tags, and stocks prescription drugs and supplies. Follows product storage procedures and standards.
Creates products signs.
Cleans department by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting. Empties trash and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler.
Assists with front end duties as necessary.
Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
