NeighborHealth, formerly East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, is a large community health center serving the greater Boston area with a commitment to patient and community health. This Pharmacy Technician position provides support and assistance to clinical staff in managing medication ordering and delivery. The role involves full-time hours, Monday-Friday, with rotating evenings, nights, and weekends. The technician will communicate with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers, proactively identifying and resolving potential problems with compassion and care. Working as part of a team, the technician will fulfill prescription orders from start to finish, understanding each workstation. Adherence to Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA), regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles is required. As permitted by state law, certified and trained technicians may expand their clinical and managerial responsibilities. Outstanding customer service skills are essential when interacting with patients, providers, and others. The position promotes teamwork through self-direction and self-motivation, with the ability to solve problems independently or seek consultation, and potentially provide leadership to other support staff. Continuous professional growth and development are expected.
