About The Position

CentroMed is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide general assistance to pharmacists in filling prescriptions for CDB Clinic patients and Walzem pharmacy patients, and to support the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of the pharmacy and providing excellent service to patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Formal training as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Certification (State Board of Pharmacy).
  • CPR Certification.
  • Computer experience.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Great Customer Service Techniques.
  • Bilingual

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacist in performing duties in filling prescriptions.
  • Type labels, quote prices, write receipts, count and pour, and take prescription information from SPMC clients.
  • Perform clerical functions including pricing prescriptions, ordering and checking in merchandise, price changing, inventory monitoring, printing and adding daily Rx logs, and copying various reports to send to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain pharmacy shelves, fixtures, and medication bottles in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is well-stocked with child-resistant vials and bottles for dispensing.
  • Handle cash transactions, accepting payments (cash, check, credit cards) from patients and issuing receipts.
  • Charge prescription prices to the appropriate program or third-party payers.
  • Abide by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual.
  • Abide by policies and procedures as dictated by the State Board of Pharmacy and renew both TSBP and PTCB licenses in a timely manner prior to expiration date and on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Handbook.
  • Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
  • Abide by all safety policies as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual.
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
