About The Position

At CVS Health retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy teams in providing operational and service excellence. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering caring service. Technicians follow standard operating procedures, pharmacy workflow practices, and effective communication standards, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. After starting, technicians must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are completed. Technicians may perform additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, and may staff offsite clinics when permitted by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permitted, technicians may obtain Technician Immunizer status after completing additional licensure and training requirements. Immunization support may include preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients and referring vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, responding to and reporting adverse reactions, reviewing and documenting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and the ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Work includes frequent patient and colleague interaction, attention to prescription details, basic math and problem-solving, and physical tasks such as remaining upright for extended periods, handling and lifting items, reaching, bending, and close visual work. The anticipated schedule is 40 hours per week. The position is full-time, with a stated pay range of $16.50–$25.00 per hour. Eligible colleagues receive a comprehensive benefits package, with benefits based on eligibility.
