This position assists a Registered Pharmacist in the non-professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medication. The role involves filling, packaging, labeling, and stocking unit dose carts, making deliveries, and filling bottles or other package forms with measured amounts of medication. The technician will also assist in clean air rooms using sterile technique for injectable prescriptions and IV additives, fill medication orders in inpatient areas, and package urgent medication requests. Record-keeping is a significant part of the role, including maintaining IV records, medication records for inpatient areas, records for extemporaneous medications, and statistics for all medication orders. The technician will also enter orders into the computer for refills and manage inventory at workstations, transport pharmacy materials, and maintain records for stock and inventory control. Efficient operation of the pharmacy is supported by maintaining sufficient daily inventory of supplies to all areas. Related duties as required and ADA Essential Functions apply.
