About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician provides exceptional customer service and supports patient health and wellness by delivering services consistent with state and federal laws. The role contributes to a safe, clean, inclusive environment and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The technician assists with pharmacy operations, including customer reception, data entry, adjudication, product dispensing, billing, inventory and ordering, and support for the pharmacist. The position requires accurate and efficient work, appropriate handling of confidential information, compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, and cooperative service to customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to handle highly confidential information.
Meet minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Previous comparable experience.
Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
EPRN familiarity.

Responsibilities

Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and report illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
Follow company guidelines for computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
Maintain clean and organized workstations and customer waiting areas.
Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
Complete billing procedures to assure value for the customer and the company.
Answer and triage phone calls and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
Follow company guidelines for vendor coupons, cash shortages, and shrink controls.
Operate the cash register and handle electronic fund transactions, cash, and checks according to company policies.
Provide a strong customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
Assist the pharmacist with responsibilities except those requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
Follow HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding protected information.
Support company health and wellness initiatives.
Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, manage conflict constructively, and seek assistance when needed.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
