About The Position

Walgreens Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician Apprentices work in a patient-centric pharmacy environment, interacting with customers and building patient relationships. Walgreens provides an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor. The program offers courses, learning activities, resources, foundational and advanced knowledge, and on-the-job experience to help participants work toward Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and a nationally recognized, portable credential. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies, the Pharmacy Technician assists in pharmacy practice and department operations. The role uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, supports customer service, and contributes to inventory management, clinical services, pharmacy workflow, and department upkeep. PTCB-certified technicians may also assist with and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in operating pharmacy systems and registers. The position requires English fluency and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Walgreens prefers six months of retail experience and notes additional preferred qualifications including prior Walgreens experience, math and computer skills, knowledge of inventory control, and PTCB certification. The role remains open until filled. Compensation depends on factors including geography, skills, education, and experience. Walgreens is an equal opportunity employer, including disability and veterans, and will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
