Location: Cumberland Pharmacy (located within First Choice Immediate Care - Adair) The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. This role involves assisting with prescription processing, medication preparation, customer service, and administrative duties while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications
  • Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system
  • Measure, count, label, and package medications
  • Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and directing inquiries appropriately
  • Process insurance claims and handle billing issues
  • Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking for expired medications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with medication prior authorizations and refill requests
  • Follow all federal, state, and company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.
