The Pharmacy Technician will enhance patient safety by ensuring the accuracy, quality, integrity, and timeliness of pharmaceutical product preparation and release. Duties include working in a computerized automated Unit Dose setting, repackaging, and intravenous admixing. The technician will also collaborate with other Pharmacy Technicians to provide teaching to pharmacy students.

Requirements

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Sound working knowledge of computer applications, including EPIC and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle a variety of complex tasks and issues promptly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in providing exceptional patient-centered care.
  • Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team of professionals.
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preceptor training with OCP.
  • Membership with the Canadian Associate of Pharmacy Technicians (C.A.P.T).
  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy.
  • Experience with Swisslog automation.
