About The Position

This is a full-time Pharmacy Technician position at Malden Pharmacy. The role involves delivering medications, managing inventory, assisting pharmacists, and performing various operational tasks within the pharmacy.

Requirements

Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license issued by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
Ability to type.
Proficiency with calculator, copy machine, and computer.
Must be able to spend the majority of the shift standing.
Must be able to perform considerable routine walking throughout the hospital.
Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Must have the ability to read doctor's orders, medication names and strengths.
Must have the ability to receive and understand phone calls.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate, or GED equivalent, preferred.
Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
Pharmacy experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Makes rounds regularly to nursing stations to deliver medications and return unused medications to the pharmacy.
Retrieves medications according to Pyxis refill reports and delivers them to Pyxis Med Stations for replenishment after pharmacist check.
Selects appropriate amounts of medication for each patient per medication cart fill reports and prepares for delivery to nursing stations.
Enters patients' daily medication charges into the computer.
Aids in filling outpatient prescriptions in the employee retail pharmacy.
Answers phones to receive medication orders and receive and direct information to the proper person.
Types medication labels.
Helps maintain pharmacy inventory at an appropriate level and assists pharmacists in total pharmacy operation.
Keeps records on all drugs delivered to the Pharmacy.
Checks and prices incoming merchandise and marks invoices for payment.
Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.
