The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of staff pharmacists, according to standard procedures. They are responsible for preparing medications pursuant to physician orders, performing sterile and non-sterile compounding in the Main Pharmacy, repackaging bulk medication in unit dose form, restocking automatic dispensing machines, answering phone calls and troubleshooting questions within the scope of their practice, participating in inventory management activities, conducting regular unit inspections, maintaining appropriate records and documentation, and routinely participating in departmental educational initiatives.
