Part Time Pharmacy Technician
About The Position
Genoa Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of their mental health and specialty pharmacy. This role involves dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Genoa Healthcare is part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, focusing on serving behavioral health and addiction treatment communities by providing personalized pharmacy services, medication management, and partnering with coordinated care teams to ensure patients with complex health conditions receive the right medications and adhere to treatment plans.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Texas
- 6+ months of Retail Pharmacy Technician experience within the last 3 years
- Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license
- Ability to use company vehicles to make deliveries within a 50-100-mile radius as needed
Nice To Haves
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
- Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist
- Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
- Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
- Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
- Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
- Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
- Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
- Assists with deliveries to patients as needed
- Other duties as assigned
