About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the medication and supply inventory for the clinic. This position involves preparing and mixing medications under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, coordinating with pharmaceutical representatives, and acting as a liaison for special medication orders. The role requires a high level of accuracy, compliance with regulations, and flexibility to support operations across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • Valid State Drivers License for travel to clinics is required.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and mix chemotherapy drugs and solutions under appropriate licensed supervision and in compliance with state regulations.
  • Maintain proficiency with the Nucleus medication dispensing system and ensure accurate medication dispensing and par-level management.
  • Review next-day orders with nursing staff to anticipate special medication needs.
  • Order, stock, and track medical supplies and medications, ensuring appropriate inventory levels and minimal waste.
  • Perform daily and annual maintenance of chemotherapy hoods and manage ambulatory pump documentation.
  • Handle biohazardous waste disposal safely and compliantly, including recordkeeping and coordination with Accounting.
  • Maintain required records for compassionate drug programs, clinical trials, biohazard waste, and related pharmacy processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws, patient privacy regulations, OSHA standards, and organizational policies.
  • Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and nursing staff on chemotherapy preparation and Nucleus system workflows.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and pharmaceutical representatives as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
  • Support operations across multiple locations as needed and work overtime when required.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings, including annual Safety/OSHA training.
