About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician prepares, fills and distributes medications and sterile products. All technicians are under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Two years of college with appropriate science courses or completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Two years as a pharmacy technician or related experience preferred.
  • Hospital pharmacy technician experience is strongly preferred.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician Required at hire
  • Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of general pharmacy operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drug names, dosage forms, packaging and storage requirements.
  • Demonstrated application of aseptic technique procedures.
  • Ability to prepare sterile solutions.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and hardware.
  • Ability to work tactfully and effectively with patients, nursing staff, physician staff, and all hospital personnel.
  • Ability to prioritize work flow and respond appropriately to immediate or urgent patient or work flow needs.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instruction.
  • Measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations as a condition of employment (and annually thereafter).
  • COVID-19 vaccination/booster remains strongly recommended.
