Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State Board of Pharmacy as required by state regulations.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support safe, timely, and accurate medication distribution under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Prepare patient drug orders.
• Restock medications and automated dispensing cabinets.
• Manage returns.
• Assist with inventory and order processing in accordance with hospital policies and state regulations.
• Prepare and label patient drug orders as directed by the pharmacist.
• Deliver medications to medication rooms and nursing stations, as appropriate.
• Review anticipated admissions and medication administration records (MAR) to plan deliveries to automated dispensing machines.
• Restock usable medications/IVs returned to the pharmacy; file medication orders per department procedure.
• Replenish automated medication dispensing machines and document activities per policy.
• Communicate stock utilization and ordering needs; assist with ordering inventory and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
