About The Position

New England Life Care (NELC) is a growing non-profit home infusion therapy services company serving hospital systems in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. NELC was founded by local hospitals to provide excellent patient care, quality, and service. We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our Canton Pharmacy location. This role will provide training on the specific needs of a Pharmacy Technician in a Home Infusion Pharmacy setting, which differs from traditional retail pharmacies. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification/Licensure as Pharmacy Technician as required by state specific Board of Pharmacy regulations WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE DATE
  • Ability to perform accurate dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions for all age populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge/practical experience with microcomputer systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Dependability in attendance and job performance
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year (minimum) experience in IV admixtures using an IV laminar flow hood in a hospital or homecare setting preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist(s) in providing pharmaceutical care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
  • Identify and understand the variable dosage requirements of different age groups, consulting with the pharmacist if questions or concerns arise.
  • Maintain proper aseptic technique within the LAFW/BSC in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Accurately prepare intravenous solutions and admixtures in a timely manner according to NELC policies and procedures.
  • Accurately label, package, and store products prior to shipment to patients.
  • Maintain the pharmacy and clean room in a clean, organized, and well-stocked manner according to NELC policies and procedures.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Assurance activities, including temperature monitoring of product environment.
  • Restock inventory, which includes lifting 35-pound boxes of fluid to supply the needs of the clean room compounding processes.
  • Assist in the completion of quarterly inventory counts as required.
  • Follow NELC policies and procedures in the normal conduction of company business.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Receive and manage inventory.
  • Prepare sterile infusion medications using aseptic technique.
