About The Position
The UW Medical Center - Northwest Outpatient Pharmacy has an outstanding opportunity for an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician. This role involves assisting the Pharmacist in professional activities and performing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Technicians engage in the preparation and packaging of medications and other pharmacy-related functions in an environment that promotes healing, science, and learning. It offers the opportunity to network with other practitioners in different specialties and to continuously learn about new cutting-edge therapies.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited/approved pharmacy technician training program
- State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification

Responsibilities
- Perform certified order entry of medication orders into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system.
- Fill prescriptions.
- Assist with online processing of prescription orders.
- Assist patients with new prescriptions and refills.
- Assist in preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Triage and communicate with patients.
- Perform computer entry of prescriptions and charge/credit data.
- Perform bulk compounding of pharmaceuticals from a formula under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Fill medication orders accurately.
- Assist customers in filling prescriptions.
- Assist with online orders.
- Accurately maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
