About The Position

RxAnte is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team in Sterling, VA. This role is crucial in coordinating care between patients, providers, and the pharmacy, focusing on improving the health of medically complex and vulnerable seniors. The Pharmacy Technician will communicate with patients about their medications, prepare prescriptions in adherence packaging, and collaborate with pharmacists to ensure medication regimens are safe and straightforward. This position directly contributes to helping seniors manage their medications effectively, promoting their health, safety, and independence at home.

Requirements

  • Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license, with proof of active licensure.
  • Ability to work on-site in Sterling, Virginia.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and patient information.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for speaking with patients by phone.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with retail, mail-order, or long-term care pharmacy data entry and pharmacy dispensing software.
  • Experience with Parata or other pharmacy automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Speak with patients by phone about their medications, answering routine questions on drug coverage, pricing, and related issues with care and attention to detail.
  • Identify when a patient should speak with a pharmacist and triage to the pharmacist appropriately.
  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy.
  • Process third-party claims according to the terms of each patient’s drug plan, and contact insurance companies and PBMs to resolve claims issues.
  • Operate automated packaging machinery to pre-sort, package, and restock medications.
  • Order and stock drugs and supplies, assemble supplies for clinical areas, stock crash carts, and complete other inventory duties.
  • Pack and ship patient orders nationwide.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by following all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.
