About The Position

This is a Full Time, Evening shift position for a Pharmacy Technician at Texas Health Frisco. The role involves autonomous responsibility in record keeping or serving as a single point of contact outside the department, and may require less supervision than a Pharmacy Technician I. Responsibilities include the timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications, ensuring accuracy of one's own work, and maintaining required competencies and documentation. The position also requires adherence to departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital and medical office community offering both primary and multispecialty care, with specialized services in women’s health, outpatient surgery, neonatal intensive care, and emergency medicine. It is a designated Baby-Friendly facility, a Joint Commission-certified hospital, and recognized as a Pathway to Excellence organization.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Ability to adapt to various software systems
  • Basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
  • The ability to work alone, and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of hospital experience is strongly preferred
  • IV Certification Upon Hire Is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Functionality requiring additional competency above Tech I, may require less supervision than a Tech I
  • Autonomous responsibility either with record keeping or as a single point of contact outside the department
  • Delegated functions of pharmacy leadership (manager or lead technicians)
  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation.
  • Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
  • Strong Unit Based Council (UBC).
