The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing and distributing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. This role involves drug distribution and intravenous admixture throughout the hospital and/or infusion center, competency in automated dispensing systems, ensuring medications are appropriately barcoded, and generating revenue through billing. The technician also maintains a safe and clean pharmacy environment, documents log sheets, completes monthly expiration medication assignments, and repackages/unit-doses medications. They are expected to utilize technology efficiently for workflow triage, manage pharmacy inventory, assist healthcare providers with phone calls, and manage time effectively to prioritize responsibilities.
