Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician license is required
  • Board Registered is required
  • Current CPR Certification is required
  • Current Class C driver’s license is required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office or pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish written and oral communication is preferred.
  • Bilingual – Ability to communicate with patients in English and Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and speak to patients and their family, co-workers, and all staff appropriately.
  • Complete transactions, including the sale of prescription medication and other medical products to patients under direction of licensed pharmacist.
  • Counts pills, labels bottles and prices medications to prepare prescriptions for patients as directed.
  • Performs administrative duties, including answering phones, completes payment transactions, receives and inputs prescription orders, and restocks inventory.
  • Takes inventory of drugs on hand and records results
  • Places orders for additional drugs as directed by the pharmacist
  • Works with healthcare providers and patients to obtain correct prescription information, when applicable.
  • Gathers, organizes and assesses patient information
  • Inputs patient demographic information
  • Prepares billing information for medications
  • Aids in completing auditing tasks with regards to 340B
  • Aids pharmacist in other tasks required to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain safe, secure, healthy work environment by following and enforcing standard procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Follow HIPAA to maintain patient confidence and protect operations.
  • Responsibility for any equipment that is assigned/checked out to you.
  • Participates in all training offered by UMMAM
  • Comply with all requirements of the organization’s corporate compliance program as approved by the Board of Directors
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Clinical Quality Director, Clinic Manager, COO, or CEO
