About The Position

Mixlab, a fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in its Milwaukee pharmacy. This role is integral in ensuring WI operations run smoothly and making Mixlab a dependable resource for customers and veterinarians. This is a full-time, hourly position. Applicants must have completed a Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program. The pharmacy operates Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM CST and Saturdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Scheduled shifts may extend beyond these hours based on pharmacy needs.

Requirements

• Completed a Board of Pharmacy approved pharmacy technician training program.
• Experience in a compounding pharmacy, fulfillment, or retail role.
• Customer-focused (pet-focused) mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Collaborative, team-player attitude.
• All-hands-on-deck attitude with the ability to remain calm and excel under pressure.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Scrappy and resourceful.
• Willingness to wear multiple hats and pitch in to help the team.

• Must love pets!
• Able to move boxes holding medications weighing up to 25lbs across the office.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to wear PPE, including face masks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders by confirming customer data, compounding, filling, and labeling medications, and packing orders.
• Ensure accuracy of patient information and records, updating as necessary.
• Handle customer interactions professionally.
• Partner with pharmacists to troubleshoot issues, work on special projects to improve quality and efficiency, and ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor inventory levels in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Maintain an organized work area and the appearance of the pharmacy.
• Cross-train across other Mixlab functions, including customer service, logistics, and processing.
• Champion the pet parent experience by recommending digital process changes and troubleshooting bugs.
• Consistently meet standards of accuracy and potency.
• Package and label prescriptions, including bulk medications.
• Monitor inventory levels, re-order low inventory or expiring chemicals, and receive new inventory.
• Adhere to USP guidelines for non-sterile compounding.
• Assist team members and problem-solve with pharmacist support.
