About The Position

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician for a full-time temporary contract at a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. The assignment is expected to last at least six weeks, with a possibility of extension based on the facility’s staffing needs. The role offers a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule, no weekend requirements, and the opportunity to work in a specialized inpatient pharmacy with a smaller, collaborative team.

Requirements

• Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage medication inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hospital pharmacy team.
• Commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care or behavioral health pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage medication inventory, including ordering support, organization, and replenishment.
• Prepare and coordinate medication deliveries to Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.
• Restock and maintain medication supplies throughout the facility.
• Answer and appropriately direct calls from nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Assist pharmacists with daily inpatient pharmacy operations.
• Support safe and efficient medication distribution throughout the hospital.
• Maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and facility procedures.
