About The Position

California Rehabilitation Institute is a 138-bed inpatient medical rehabilitation hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. We help patients during some of the most vulnerable, painful moments of their lives – and every team member plays a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care every step of the way. This role involves completing a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, being responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy within established policies and guidelines, and working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. This position does not provide direct patient care.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.

Nice To Haves

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred unless required by the State.

Responsibilities

• Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
• Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing and filling out all necessary paperwork.
• Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
