About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician provides exceptional customer service and supports patients’ health and wellness through services permitted by state and federal law. The role helps maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive environment, provides accurate and timely pharmacy services, and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The technician assists the pharmacist with pharmacy operations, except for duties requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to handle highly confidential information.
Meet minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Previous comparable experience.
Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
EPRN familiarity.

Responsibilities

Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and report illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations and procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
Follow company guidelines for computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
Maintain clean, organized workstations and customer waiting areas.
Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
Complete billing procedures to support value for the customer and the company.
Answer and triage phone calls and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
Follow guidelines for accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink.
Operate the cash register and handle electronic fund transactions, cash, and checks according to company policies.
Provide a positive customer experience while accurately completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
Assist the pharmacist with responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
Follow HIPAA regulations and company policies for protecting confidential information.
Support company health and wellness initiatives.
Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
Act honestly and with integrity when handling customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
