The Pharmacy Technician will provide services such as reading and interpreting prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff, selecting and retrieving medications of the correct strength and dosage form prescribed, transcribing prescription data to labels using computer systems, prepare prescriptions for review by a pharmacist prior to dispensing, giving pertinent patient instructions when appropriate, and completing stock medication orders as instructed by the pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will normally work seven (7) hours per week, from Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between the hours of 6:00 am and 1:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. The Pharmacy Technician will not work more than 35 hours a week. The Pharmacy Technician must wear appropriate and professional attire at all times. The Pharmacy Technician is prohibited from wearing khaki or green clothing of any type, as this is the color clothing the inmate population wears.
