About The Position
Performs the manual technical tasks involved with the proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, obtaining patient’s clinical and prescription plan coverage information, review of new and/or refill prescription, associated record keeping and patient charging systems. Works under the direct supervision and control of a Registered Pharmacist. Follows proper procedures for the operation of equipment and use of supplies.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Registered New Jersey Pharmacy Technician required, within 6 months of employment in this position
- Completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or a passing score on the Certified Pharmacy Technician Examination offered by the Academy of Pharmacy Technicians or other comparable national certification
- Valid NJ Driver’s license required
- Ability to sit, stand, walk lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Retail Pharmacy technician experience preferred
