About The Position

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines. May also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00a to 2:00p. On call Monday through Friday some weeks rotating with 7 other drivers/techs. Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours, and schedules based on business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Ability to work weekends or be in a weekend rotation required.
  • Ability to work holidays or be in a holiday rotation required
  • Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation required
  • Ability to work overtime with little or no advance notice required
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred.
  • Past IV experience is a plus
  • Flexibility to work various shifts is preferred
  • Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks is required
  • Comfortable working in a nuclear environment is required

Responsibilities

  • Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Assists pharmacist and other pharmacy staff in preparing facility for daily operations through order fulfillment (dispensing), cleaning, equipment and quality control testing.
  • Follows standard operating procedures to facilitate ongoing pharmacy operations.
  • Processes customer orders to ensure efficient communication and timely delivery of medications to patients.
  • Performs administrative pharmacy tasks, answers questions, and assists customers to facilitate pharmacy operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains pharmacy safety through following and recording completion of daily infection control procedures.
  • Takes direction from other pharmacy techs to develop skills and knowledge of pharmacy operations.
