About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW pharmacies. The Pharmacy Technician works under the general guidance and daily supervision of the Pharmacist and the Pharmacist - in - Charge.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn email, calendar, word processing and database software programs.
  • Ability to use or learn to use computers for order entry, inventory control, billing and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of basic math and algebra.
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients and clinical staff is required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient population.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
  • Ability to successfully interact with other pharmacy staff is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to provide own transportation to various locations, as required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time is required.
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, pull, push and /or carry up to 25 pounds regularly is required.
  • Ability to see near, mid and far range is required.
  • Good hand dexterity in order to handle small items such as medication packets is required.
  • Ability to use keyboard is required.
  • Ability to write legibly is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable.
  • Pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with computers preferred.
