About The Position

Life Tree Pharmacy is dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and compassionate pharmacy care with the personal attention of a family pharmacy. Our team delivers customized pharmacy solutions to a wide range of healthcare settings, including psychiatric hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, group homes, assisted living communities, and youth behavioral health programs. This is a part-time position that includes evenings and weekends. The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Responsibilities include packaging medications according to standard procedures (blister cards, unit dose packaging, compliance packaging, and vial fill), assisting with inventory management, preparing compounds per physician's order under pharmacist supervision, accurately labeling prescriptions, preparing medication for delivery, assisting in maintenance and documentation of environmental controls in compliance with state and federal regulations, adhering to HIPAA and FDA regulations, maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy environment, and striving for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician, a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or willingness to become registered as a Technician Trainee with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
  • Be at least 16 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Supports pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
  • Package medications according to standard procedures including blister cards, unit dose packaging, compliance packaging, and vial fill.
  • Assists with maintenance of an adequate inventory of medications and other supplies.
  • Prepares compounds per physician’s order under supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Labels prescriptions accurately, including informational labels, e.g. cautionary and auxiliary labels.
  • Prepares medication for delivery to customers.
  • Assists in maintenance and documentation of appropriate environmental controls in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and FDA regulations and also maintain a clean and safe pharmacy environment.
  • Strives for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
