Job Description: Pharmacy Technician Hours: Monday–Friday (8:30a-5p) Location: New Hyde Park, NY Organization: New York Cancer and Blood Specialist (NYCBS) In This Role, You will: As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timely medication services. Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician with a valid New York State license
  • Strong understanding of dosage administration, measurement, chemical compounds, and medical brands
  • Proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy information systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty or high-volume retail pharmacy
  • Willingness to complete approximately 4 weeks of training at our Port Jefferson, NY location

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Monitor pharmaceutical stock, anticipate medication needs, place and track orders, verify deliveries, and remove expired products.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and compliant pharmacy environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Infection Control: Follow established protocols to protect patients, colleagues, and yourself from potential health risks.
  • Medication Preparation: Read prescriptions and EMR orders, prepare labels, calculate quantities, and organize medications for pharmacist verification.
  • Recordkeeping: Accurately document charges, maintain billing records, and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Medication Delivery: Distribute prepared medications to patients or appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Reporting: Collect and summarize pharmacy data to assist in operational tracking and compliance efforts.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues and assist in related tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
