About The Position

As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Inventory Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the following: Responsible for independently performing all technical duties associated with pharmacy inventory control, such as purchasing, receiving, processing invoices, barcoding, labelling, and supporting related inventory management functions Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas Ensuring inventory and related pharmacy data and information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system Completing all required reports and documentation Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions Performing workload measurement support functions Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery

Nice To Haves

  • Two years practical and related experience preferred
  • Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred
