About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Team! Under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge and staff pharmacists, performs duties which include but are not limited to: Assisting with daily activities and help department maintain Joint Commission compliance. Will be responsible for sterile compounding of pharmaceuticals and maintaining sterile environments for medication compounding. Will be responsible for auditing controlled substance use and ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies. Will refill and deliver pharmaceuticals to automated dispensing machines (Pyxis), deliver pharmaceuticals throughout facility and outlying clinics. Will review daily surgical schedule and ensuring medications are ready and available to nursing staff for upcoming surgeries. Will be responsible for medication reconciliation of patients coming in for surgery, ensuring accurate medications for providers for medication reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Is aware of standards and performs in accordance with them.
  • Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy.
  • AHA BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with daily activities and help department maintain Joint Commission compliance.
