Pharmacy Technician - Per Diem
About The Position
As a Pharmacy Tech, your excellent organization skills and attention to detail make you a crucial resource within the unit and ensures quality patient care. The Pharmacy Tech processes and prepares medication orders by repackaging bulk medication into individual size packages; rounds to floors in an accurate and timely manner to deliver medication; adds measured drugs or nutrients to intravenous solutions under sterile conditions. Ensures concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using EMR system (Electronic Medical Record); uses pharmacy information system to run reports and access medication data; receives and stores incoming supplies and verifies quantities. Cleans and maintains the repackaging machine after use; performs non-sterile compounding and prepares oral liquids, creams and ointments in a clean environment; measures and combines medication accurately with proper documentation; ensures proper disposal of medication.
Requirements
- National Pharmacy Certification required within 18 months of hire.
