About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician performs, under supervision of the pharmacy manager, a variety of technical duties related to the preparing and dispensing of drugs according to standard procedures. A Day in the Life includes Prescription processing (data entry, counting medication, selling prescriptions), Customer service (phone and counter interactions, handling complaints), and performing all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to gain knowledge of current practice management system, electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet.
• Ohio board of pharmacy technician license
• CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Perform technical duties of data entry, counting medication, and selling prescriptions to patients in accordance under the supervision of the pharmacist on duty.
• Give patients excellent customer service on the phone and at the counter.
• Assist the pharmacy manager as needed to handle any customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
