This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of $1,250. Serving the needs of the surrounding communities, Willoughby Hills Family Health Center offers patients a wide variety of pediatric, family medicine, radiology and cardiology services. The Pharmacy Technician – Community supports the outpatient pharmacy team at Willoughby Hills Family Health Center, a high-volume ambulatory pharmacy processing approximately 400 prescriptions per day. This role involves rotating through multiple cross-trained work areas on a weekly basis, including prescription typing, medication filling, customer service and register support, answering phones, inventory management, and stocking responsibilities. Caregivers may also float to support additional workflow areas as needed, with each workstation maintaining daily task responsibilities to support efficient pharmacy operations and quality patient care. A caregiver in this role will work 20 hours, Monday and Tuesday on 10 hour shifts from 7:45am to 6:15pm and may have to rotate into 9:45am to 8:15pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).
  • A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role.
  • Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 18 months from the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of hospital experience
  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program

Responsibilities

  • Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.
  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
  • Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.
  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
  • Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.
  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.
